Visiting Angels![]()
When
Visited by Angels (or An Angel) in our time of need ...
Remember that
God
commands the Angels, and the Glory and Honor should go to God alone.
An Angel Visited Me
"About three years ago I had to have back surgery. While
working as a home health aid I lifed a lady I was taking care of and I could
feel something in my back "snap". I believe in God, but I was afraid. While
waiting to be taken to surgery, a big handsome man came into my room. He was
wearing a cross. I told him I liked it. He said, "I am a Christian, would you
like me to pray for you?" I said, "yes." He did and left the room. AFTER HE
PRAYED ALL FEAR LEFT ME. After the surgery, I asked them to ask him to come in
so I could thank him. They told me that no one that looked anything like that
worked there. I will always believe God sent me an angel that day. Today, I am a
minister." Joyce. "God makes His angels to be ministering spirits..." (Hebrews
1:14)
Helped by an Angel
When I dropped my aunt off
at a restaurant, she insisted I not get out of the car to help her as I usually
did, since she walked with a cane for extra balance. Well, against my
better judgement, I finally agreed to let her go it alone. As she entered
the building, I started to drive away until all of a sudden I heard a terrible
scream. She had fallen with her arm caught in the bar handle of the door
and bone protruding from her arm. The first thing that ran through my mind
as it always does, was my desperate plea to God. I silently prayed, "Oh,
my dear God please help me!" I panicked, even with medical training, the sight
of a loved one in that condition was a real challenge. My aunt was a
tall, large woman, and I knew I wouldn't be able to lift her and release her arm
from the handle with a minimal amount of risk of further injury to the arm.
I asked the restaurant personnel to call 911, but they insisted I do it. I
asked for help in moving her, but no one seemed too willing.
At that moment, the largest man I had ever seen, an African-American man with
striking good looks, dressed nicely with tie, approached in a very slow and
deliberate manner. It was as though there were no other people present
except this stranger, my aunt and I. I immediately said, "thank God you're
here, I don't know how I would have moved her". I nervously gave him
instructions on how to minimize further injury and suggestions on the best way
to try and move her. He
never
spoke a word, even when I asked several times what he thought or if he
agreed. This tall large strong and striking man never uttered a word.
He ended up moving her by himself, almost effortlessly and I supported the arm.
Once she was lying flat on the floor, I turned my attention to my aunt for just
a few seconds, and when I turned to thank the man again, I watched him take a
few steps back into the restaurant area (still very slow and graceful as though
he was walking on a cloud or almost as if floating), and then he was nowhere to
be seen or found. I looked but could not see him anywhere.
After my aunt was taken in the ambulance, I started to search for the kind stranger again. I asked the host of the restaurant who was at the front door when this happened, and witnessed the whole incident, but he said he had not seen the very large, striking figure of this man, and insisted they did not have an employee that matched his description. He said he only saw me with my aunt. I asked the customers at the restaurant if they had seen him, but no one had. We searched throughout the restaurant too, in case he was a customer, but he was nowhere in sight. I asked for the manager who denied having an employee fitting the description and then spoke with 5 other employees who then asked every employee in the place for me. The answer was always the same. No one had seen the man walk up to us or leave the area and he was not an employee of the restaurant. I know the restaurant employees thought I was a bit overwrought, but
I am convinced, that our
faithful Lord, sent an Angel to help that day.

Saint Bernard Dog/Angel
Connie in Helena, Montana
A year ago October 28th, my beloved
Saint Bernard dog, Abby, said her final good byes to us as she passed away, in
my arms, after a long struggle with cancer. I cried my eyes out and knew I would
never find another dog as good as Abby.
Many times since her passing I have felt Abby's presence beside me.
It feels like she is still watching out for me.
Our family went to the local humane society and brought home two male Saint
Bernard mix puppies.
I love these dogs, but they just aren't my Abby.
The evening of October 18, 2003 one of my Day Care families came over, with their big friendly Saint Bernard, Kade, because I was making a Halloween costume for a Ohio friend's Saint Bernard, and I could fit the costume on it.
I just love Kade.
The next thing I knew the husband said, "Would you consider adopting Kade, because we are moving and not sure we can keep him anymore."
I told them I'd talk to my husband,
Mike, and let them know.
They suggested I keep Kade overnight, so I could finish fitting the Halloween
costume.
Before the night was over our entire family had fallen in love with Kade.
My eight year old son desperately wanted Kade to sleep with him.
So instead of putting Kade outside, in the dog kennel, we allowed him to stay in
the house.
We left all the bedroom doors open so he could choose who to sleep with.
The next morning at 5 am Kade tried to
wake up my husband.
Mike kept pushing Kade away, muttering about slobbering Saint Bernard's.
Kade gave up on waking him from that angle so he came around to my side of the
bed.
Kade jumped up and laid down on top of my body and started scratching at Mike
still trying to wake him up.
Mike finally woke up, noticed that I was having convulsions, foaming at the
mouth and freezing cold.
As it turns out, I am diabetic and was
having a deadly insulin reaction.
Our alarm clock wasn't set to go off for another two hours, and I don't think I
would have even been alive at that time.
Kade woke Mike up so he could take care
of me and then after I had some juice to bring my blood sugar up Kade did just
what "Saints" are trained to do.
He laid his body over the top of mine and wrapped his head around me and let his
warm breath warm my body back up.
I had unknowingly been freezing to death from the insulin reaction.
My body temperature was below 90 and maybe this is what triggered Kade to know something was wrong with me?
We'll never know why he woke Mike up, but without any doubt I know God worked a miracle and sent us this dog to save my life.
As I was unconscious I knew I was dying.
I pictured my old Saint Bernard Abby and could see her and wanted to be with
her.
Since that day I have felt Abby's presence every time I look into Kade's eyes.
There was never any question after that of where Kade would live.
He was sent to us by God and will have a loving home for the rest of his life.
Every day I am thankful to my Saint for saving my life and giving me more time
with my children and husband.
